A letter to you, my ambitious human,

 

I know you're tired of doing the most in hopes that if you just work hard enough, you will reach your desired outcome... your end destination... your next level goal.

I know you're also frustrated, because I felt the same way. Our society has taught you (and all of us) that work is the core part of life and therefore that is how your worth is determined. You're literally sitting there thinking, "well if I'm F*ing doing the most, WHY am I not where I want to be yet?!" I GET IT!

However, it's not just a story that society has taught us over and over again... Overworking & not having enough time, and then not being able to slow down and relax, is actually a trauma response.  

Almost all of us, especially as women, either on a collective, generational, or individual level have experienced trauma... And it's affecting your ability to show up and achieve your goals with ease. Why is this? Well, it comes back to a point in your life or in your ancestors life where you have been taught that speaking up, being seen, or achieving your deepest desires, is not safe.

As a child you may have seen this to be true on an individual level, based on how a care-giver shut down your idea, or you may have inherited it from your grandmother who learned to sit down and be quiet. Staying small, putting your head down and just doing the work, not complaining or asking for a break, IS a coping mechanism for safety.

 

Now, I'm not going to go into that much more at this moment, but the POINT here is, that if 1) work makes up 1/3 of your life and 2) you are working in a way that is subconsciously keeping you "safe" (but also small) and 3) You continue a cycle of overworking in hopes of breaking through, but you are also feeling stuck in the expectations of what you need to do as a woman to be successful (as a mother, in your job, with your business). 

 

THEN... the place to start reclaiming your power, taking back your time, re-writing the narratives around what you believe needs to happen for you to be successful... all starts in the foundation of HOW you are working.
